What To Expect
1
La Jolla Cove
Welcome to beautiful, historic, and scenic La Jolla! Although technically part of San Diego, you'll soon find that this neighborhood has a character and history uniquely its own. Note: This long tour covers the essentials of Ultimate La Jolla in 2-3 hours. Buy once, use for one year! Ideal for extended visits and return trips over the next 12 months.
2
La Jolla Cove Bridge Club
This is the La Jolla Cove Bridge Club, and it's a clue as to how La Jolla got to where it is today.
3
Ellen Browning Scripps Park
We're walking through Ellen Browning Scripps Park, named for one of the most important figures behind La Jolla's rapid expansion.
4
Cuvier Park - The Wedding Bowl
On your right is Cuvier Park, the most popular place in San Diego to tie the knot. In fact, it's such a beloved destination for soon-to-be-married couples that some call it The Wedding Bowl. Given its picturesque location by the water, I'm sure you can see why.
5
St James by-The-Sea Episcopal Church
Do you see a peach-colored belltower ahead? That's St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. It dates to 1908 and, like much of La Jolla, owes its existence to Ellen Scripps.
6
Athenaeum Music and Arts Library
The white Spanish-revival building with terracotta shingles and arched windows is a must for lovers of the arts. It's the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library.
7
Windansea Beach
Windansea is what’s known as a surf break. Rocky obstructions under the water here cause waves to break and also form those classic barrel-shaped curls that make for radical surfing.
