Holgate Glacier
A towering tidewater glacier
Visit either one of two spectacular tidewater glaciers, Aialik or Holgate. Like Aialik, Holgate Glacier is surrounded by steep cliffs, dense forests and towering mountain peaks. Visitors may see spectacular calving events as ice chunks break and crash into the ocean. Though rare, black bears have been sighted on the beaches in Holgate arm.
