Punalu'u Bake Shop

Located at the Southernmost point in the United States, this bakery is a must-visit location. Bakers buzz around as locals and travelers alike peer into the glass cases, where fresh malasadas, sweet bread and other baked goods are showcased- try one for yourself!

Punalu'u Black Sand Beach

This iconic location on the southern tip of the Big Island is home to the most recognized black sand beach anywhere on Hawaii Island. The beach has black sand made of basalt and created by lava flowing into the ocean. Punaluʻu is frequented by endangered hawksbill and green turtles, which can often be seen basking on the black sand.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Witness the stunning views of a crater that experienced thousands of earthquakes, many explosive rockfalls and the draining of Kilauea Caldera’s gigantic lava lake.
