The Dairy Visitor Center and Gift Shop
The Dairy, located mid-Park at 65th Street in Central Park, is a Victorian Gothic-style building designed by Calvert Vaux and completed in 1871. Originally serving as a refreshment spot offering fresh milk and snacks to children, it was part of the Park's Children's District. Over the years, the Dairy underwent various transformations, including periods of decline and restoration. In 1979, it reopened as Central Park's first visitor center, and today it houses a gift shop managed by the Central Park Conservancy, offering information and merchandise to Park visitors.
