Hidden Valley
Next, we’ll explore Hidden Valley, one of the most scenic and iconic areas in Joshua Tree National Park. We’ll spend about 1.5 hours here, walking the 1-mile (1.6 km) loop trail that winds through a stunning natural rock enclosure.
Surrounded by towering boulders, Hidden Valley is known for its unique geology and fascinating history. According to legend, this secluded valley was once used by cattle rustlers as a hideout. Today, it’s a paradise for hikers, rock climbers, and nature lovers. As we walk the trail, you’ll see impressive rock formations, massive boulders balanced in gravity-defying ways, and a variety of desert plants, including Joshua trees, yuccas, and pinyon pines.
This stop offers plenty of opportunities for photography, light scrambling on the rocks, and soaking in the peaceful desert atmosphere.
